Nokian Panimo’s board has made an investment decision to build the brewery’s new logistics centre. The investment is the largest in the brewery’s history, with the project’s total estimated cost exceeding EUR 4 million. Construction will begin in October, and the new extension is expected to be completed in spring 2025.
With this investment decision, Nokian Panimo is building a new logistics centre with a total floor area of approximately 2,350 square metres and a volume of approximately 26,700 cubic metres. Once completed, the new logistics centre will be roughly twice the size of the current one. The size of the currently used storage facilities has limited production capacity, and with the extra space Nokian Panimo will be better able to prepare for, for example, demand for seasonal products. The new logistics centre will streamline the handling of goods flows, such as raw materials and finished products, and reduce logistics costs. Our customers value our products’ high quality and sensible pricing, and thanks to this investment we can serve them even better, says Nokian Panimo’s CEO Janne Paavola. With the new logistics centre built, the current storage facilities may be freed up for production use in the future.
The investment strengthens the brewery’s competitiveness, improves operational flexibility and enables continued growth. The investment decision is a significant milestone in Nokian Panimo’s history and an important step in realising our vision of being the best craft brewery by every measure, says Jarmo Puputti, Chair of Nokian Panimo’s Board. The first phase of construction will focus on foundation and frame work, after which work will move on to fitting out and finishing the interior spaces. The goal is to bring the new logistics centre into use in spring 2025 and have it fully operational by summer.
